I’m a student at Farmingdale High School and a varsity hockey player who also plays basketball in my church league. I’ve always been drawn to the sciences, and I hope to study them in college while continuing to stay active in sports.

I joined tutoring because I wanted a job where I could earn money while doing something meaningful. Helping other students succeed not only feels productive, but it also lets me share my interest in science and learning.

I want to tutor because it gives me the chance to help others while also pushing myself to explain things clearly. I like the idea of being able to make money while doing something that benefits students in my community.

I’ve helped classmates with science labs and math homework, and I often work with my younger cousin on school projects. I’ve learned that patience and positive encouragement can make a big difference in how much someone enjoys learning.

When someone struggles with a concept, I try to simplify it by comparing it to something familiar. For example, when explaining chemistry, I’ll use sports analogies like teamwork and strategy to show how atoms and molecules interact. I also believe in practicing problems until the student feels confident on their own.

Balancing varsity hockey, church league basketball, and academics has taught me discipline and time management. I hope to take that same work ethic into college, where I plan to study science and pursue a career in the field.

My favorite subject to tutor is Biology because I enjoy learning about how living systems work. I like explaining science with real-world examples that make the material less abstract and easier to remember.
